Bezalel Community Service

Lodge Bezalel will be in for a very busy year as it continues to serve both the Cobb and Jewish communities.

Our Lodge to feed couples at the Jewish Shelter next to The Temple in Midtown.  The dates are:  Wed. Dec. 11th, Wed. Jan. 15th, Wed. Feb. 5th, and Mon. March 24th.  This is a moving experience which each brother should definitely volunteer for, to experience firsthand what giving is all about.

We will also be volunteering to run Bingo night at the Breman Jewish home on a couple of Wednesdays during the year from 7:30 to 8:45 PM.

On Sunday, March 9th, we will again have the opportunity to collect pledges and Walk for the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB).  This walk attracts thousands of runners/walkers each year – a large percentage of the walkers being fellow Jews walking on behalf of their synagogues and organizations.  In addition to funds going to the ACFB, a lot of the money raised at this event goes to MAZON, a Jewish charity based on feeding the world’s hungry.

Walks and runs are not limited to just the benefit of the Food Bank. In the past we have walked and contributed to other causes such as The Daffodil Dash and the Cancer Relay for Life.

Please make the effort to assist the Brotherhood on some of these community projects.  Our order is service based. We don’t look for money from our members, but rather one’s occasional effort and time alongside his fellow brothers to do something good for the community.
